It’s not easy being green

“It’s not easy, being green.  You seem to blend in with so many ordinary things. And people tend to pass you over ‘cause you’re not standing out like flashy sparkles in the water – or stars in the sky…” – Kermit the Frog “It’s not easy being green”

We’ve all been there.  We’ve all had the feeling that we’re invisible, passed over, unseen, or simply forgotten. Though, it’s often our perception of things that make us think this way.  We look at others, we read stories of how things are suppose to be, and we create this scenario in our heads that says if things are not following the plan of A, B, and C, then we’re being ignored.

What a minute, while you were busy making your list of things that are not being done, have you ever considered all the things that are being done? Not everything is going to match up to your fantasies and comprised ideals that you derived from what you’ve seen around you. And why should it? No one else is you.

Are you blending in? Do you feel ordinary and passed over? Perhaps you’re dulling your own shine by catering to a pity-party laid out for one. Stop doing it.  Realize how special and unique you are. How multifaceted and talented you are, and that your sparkle and shine doesn’t weigh on someone else recognizing who, and what you are.

“When green is all there is to be, it could make you wonder why, but why wonder? Why Wonder, I am green and it’ll do fine, it’s beautiful! And I think it’s what I want to be.”
