“Colors, like features, follow the changes of the emotions.” – Pablo Picasso
The color red stands for a lot of things. Psychologist say that it is the most intense color in the spectrum – able to vary from one degree to another.
If you were to ask someone what comes to mind when they think about that particular color, the most common responses are likely to be: blood, fire, endings, anger, love, and lust.
Red can also mean danger and authority. Wearing bright red signals to people that you are here and ready to be seen. Pay attention to me. People give red roses as a sign of their passion.
But what about you? What does red symbolize in your mind? If you were in a room decorated in shades of red, how would that make you feel? When you get a paper that’s full of red markings, what feelings spring up inside?
Ultimately I like to think of red as the ultimate power-play shade. It can seduce your mind, draw your eyes, spark a fire, and elicit intense emotions.
