It had to be the last vestiges of summer. Though, by the calendar it was technically Autumn, the weather currently was warm for this time of year. She left her jacket at home – didn’t even bother with a sweater – and took to the outdoors.
A light stroll took her to the creek not too far from her home. Some of the leaves on the trees had turned while others were still green. It was like Summer didn’t want to leave this place. She felt that she could relate. Summer was warm, bright, with long hours that extended the days. Who would want to give that up for the cold, dark days of Winter?
Everyone spoke of how Fall symbolized the beauty of letting things go, but all she wanted was to hold on to Summer.
